Teaching With Rigor in Project Based Learning: Connecting College and Career Readiness to Real World Media Outcomes

Session Type:
CA Career Pathways Session
Presentation Description:
The demands of college and career readiness are best achieved through a rigorous approach to meeting the standards via project based learning. Students who are actively engaged in real world outcomes can effectively see the value of how each content area connects to skills they will need to be productive in their future. This presentation will provide examples from the Kearny Digital Media and Design team and will reflect on the grade level planning process, vertical alignment between projects, examples of content area connections, discussion of common prep time and student cohorts, and will give examples of how we build skills as we work toward proficiencies.
